UK corporate events RFPs have shifted materially since 2023. Corporate buyers increasingly include sustainability questions when they shortlist event venues, and a hotel that can answer them with verified data is better placed than one relying on marketing copy.
The five items every RFP asks for
Venue RFP sustainability sections commonly ask for evidence in five areas: on-site renewable energy generation and percentage of total consumption, third-party certification (BREEAM, ISO 14001, Green Tourism, Earth Check), Scope 2 emissions per delegate-day calculated to GHG Protocol standards, waste/water/food sustainability metrics, and group/brand sustainability platform integration. Answer all five with verified data, not marketing copy.
SBTi and TCFD alignment
For hotels supplying major UK corporate events business, Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) alignment and TCFD framework alignment is increasingly important. Ask your installer for monitoring data you can map to both frameworks.
